My toddler and I were collecting leaves to stick onto paper just for some 3D fun and then we were drawing bugs and beetles in pencil among the "real" leaves. My toddler asked three days straight to continue picking leaves to make more pictures. On the third day, a leaf slipped under the paper and I remembered in primary school as a young child, rubbing charcoal over paper with objects underneath. We didn't have charcoal with us at that exact second, but we had pencils. So off we went, shading over the leaves to make patterns. We filled the whole page and it looked great. My toddler wanted to make a card with it, so pictures are attached of how we started and our final product of a birthday card!
